After graduating from School of Social Sciences at Waseda University, Okamoto joined CyberAgent in 2000.

In year 2003, he became the president of the wholly-owned subsidiary, CASearch that specializes in SEM.

The company was then merged with CyberAgent in 2007, and he has been the member of the board since December 2008.
